Hello! I haven't been here in a while! The place looks so dusty and smells of old books. Just what I like!!! I've always wanted a library in my mansion that has books from the middle of the wall, all the way up to the ceiling. It's easier to stretch up than it is to bend down, which is why the books start in the middle.
Anyway... let's get started. I don't have much time. I'm supposed to be awake in approximately 1 hour and 33 minutes to get ready for an overnight hike/camp/adventure and I haven't slept yet tonight. Not even close to tired. Of course, in about an hour and 22 minutes, I will probably be dragging ass but I will cross that bridge when I get to it...if I don't fall over the side.
Once there was this wagon. It was lonely and bored and needed something to do. It just sat there day after day, waiting for someone to come love it. Finally, one day a wreck appeared and said to the wagon, "You are just what I have needed! I am so weary and in need of a better way. Could you please let me ride and we can be friends forever and ever?" The wagon LOVED this idea! Finally someone to talk to...someone to cry to...someone to lean on...someone to love!!!
So the wreck jumped on and away the two of them went. Happily thriving off of each other. The wreck started to change, both physically and mentally from all that the wagon had to offer. The wreck was turning into a wonder! Everywhere the wagon took the wreck, heads would turn and people would smile and compliment her. A real change was taking place and people took notice. Life was amazing. Life was great. Life was love. And the wagon couldn't be more pleased.
One day, the wagon and the wreck got separated. The wreck promised it was only for the day; and it was! When the wreck returned to the wagon, there were stories to be told and laughter to be had. The wagon told the wreck, "Please don't get in the habit of leaving me for a whole day. It isn't good for either one of us. We need each other!" The wreck promised the wagon that she would never leave.
Then one day...about a week later...the wreck left again for the day. When she came back it was the same; stories to be told and laughter to be had. The wreck then told the wagon that she would be leaving again tomorrow so they needed to spend all the quality time together that they could tonight. This made the wagon sad but it did all it could to entice the wreck to stay. No dice. The next day, the wreck was gone.
The wagon stayed faithful and tried harder and harder to keep the wreck shining, both physically and emotionally but it was getting more difficult by the day. The wreck was off with old "friends" that weren't as invested or interested in her well-being. They dangled bad things in front of her that she just couldn't resist.
One day, while the wreck was away, the wagon thought, "It's time for some tough love!" I am going to move on while she's away and make her work to get to me. So the wagon moved on up the road a little bit and waited. When the wreck came back after spending the day away, she was shocked to see that the wagon had moved. She could still see it though. It was just up the road. So up the road she went. When she got to the wagon, she was a little out of breath and very parched and hungry. The wagon offered exactly what she needed.
The next day, the wreck left again. And the wagon decided to keep doing what he had been doing. So again, he moved. This time he moved even further away and close to halfway up a hill. The wagon was far enough away that he wouldn't be able to see the wreck when she got to the last point so he would just have to sit and wait.
You see, he knew that what he had to offer was billions of times better than what the wreck was getting from the old "friends."
Later that night, the wreck came crawling back to the wagon. The wreck was dirty, weary and thirsty, yet hungry for something that she couldn't explain. She asked, "Why did you move again? And why did you move so far away?" The wagon replied only with "Because I love you and I need you to see it." The wreck didn't like this answer and went to sleep angry because she didn't think the wagon loved her at all.
The very next day, the wagon woke up to find that the wreck had left. There was a note. "Please don't leave me. I will return later."
And the wagon waited. For days the wagon waited and the wreck never made it back. The wagon got lonely and bored before it got angry. It was then that the wagon knew it had to take drastic action.
So he wrote a note for the wreck. "I have moved on up to the top of the hill. I know you can make it to meet me. I love you and I have faith in you. You can do this. When you get to the top of the hill, we will be together again and we can start new; start fresh."
The wagon moved up the hill alone. He didn't take much time getting to the top and when he did, he made a plan for the day the wreck meets him again.
The wreck has never made it to the top of that giant hill yet. She looks at it and says "Tomorrow is the day" but her "friends" keep pulling her back and dangling the uglies in front of her. She knows she wants to be with the wagon but she can't pull herself away from the "friends." The "friends" make it comfortable and fun; the wagon makes it fun but there was always "work" involved. Even if the work turned out to be exhilarating, it was work all the same.
The wreck had to make a decision once and for all. She had to make a choice. Once she finds her wagon, she is never letting go. And if she does.........that wagon has permission to run her over, as many times as it takes, to get her head on straight and see what she is doing to herself!
Hi. I am that wreck. And I am chasing my wagon. I let myself fall and am having a terrible time getting back on and staying with it. Those "friends?" Those are bad foods and bad habits. Fatty foods, bad carbs, and empty calories. It's time to get back on track. It's time to not only get on my wagon but to put my wagon to good use. No more excuses. Today is the start of something better. Better than it has been for a few weeks now. And maybe, just maybe, I will finally be able to sleep!
In an hour and 3 minutes, I am supposed to be awake and getting ready for a trip that I can't wait to get started on! I haven't even made a decision yet on where we are going!!! I have a bunch of ideas on pieces of paper and they are waiting in an envelope. My partner in crime is going to pick a piece of paper out and decide our fate for the next 36 hours. She doesn't know that yet so...shhhhhh!!! -_-
